Being made bankrupt can be a worrying and stressful experience.

You can expect to be contacted by an Examiner from the Official Receiver’s office. You will have to complete a detailed questionnaire about your financial circumstances and attend a face to face interview.

The Service

Our bankruptcy support service covers takes the stress of dealing with the Official Receiver and any subsequently appointed Trustee.

Completion of your PIQB questionnaire
Soon after you are made bankrupt, you will receive a letter from the Official Receiver asking you to attend a face to face interview. You will also be asked to complete a questionnaire about your financial circumstances (PIQB).

We will complete the PIQB document with you so you understand exactly what each question is asking and the information you need to provide.

Preparation for your interview with the Official Receiver
If you are made bankrupt by one of your creditors, you will normally have to attend a face to face interview with an examiner from the Official Receiver’s office.

We will make sure that you are properly prepared for your interview. We will explain the questions you are likely to be asked and how to best answer them. We will also advise you on any paperwork you should take with you.

Our service will take away much of the stress associated with your interview and makes the process far less daunting.

Ongoing support during your bankruptcy
You will normally remain bankrupt for 12 months. You can contact us at any point during this time if you have questions or concerns.

The Official Receiver might send you addition information requests. We will assist you with drafting your response to these.

Assistance with any appointed Bankruptcy Trustee
After your initial interview with the Official Receiver, it is possible that a Trustee will be appointed to manage your Bankruptcy.

If this happens, we will assist you with the bankruptcy questionnaire they are likely to ask you to complete together with an up to date income and expenses budget. We will also assist you with answering any additional questions they may have.

Cost

We charge an upfront fee for our Bankruptcy Assistance Service. This is in addition to the standard Bankruptcy application fee which you will also have to pay. Our fee is as follows:

Single person Bankruptcy Application: £750

An increase to the standard fee may be charged if you require a more in depth assistance. This may be the case if you are self employed, a home owner or are currently residing outside of the UK.
